ATM Finally Comes to Pop-Up
The Pop-Up Village’s first ATM, a Commonwealth Bank terminal in Melville Hall, was installed this weekend. This ends a two-week period in which no ATMs were available, and Pop-Up officials say more ATMs are planned.
The new ATM sits inside the Melville Hall entrance, in front of the Bryan Kenyon Student Space, just past the Commonwealth Bank outlet. Observer understands students will have 24-hour access to the machine. This is now the only ATM available in the Union Court area; the Westpac, NAB and ANZ ATMs in Union Court have all been removed due to the Union Court Redevelopment.
For two weeks prior, the Pop-Up has had new eateries, a bar, and student spaces, but no way to get money from a hole in the wall. Previously the closest ATM to the Pop-Up was in Lena Karmel Lodge. Now, however, Pop-up management are pursuing the addition of Redi and NAB machines; but warned providers have been behind schedule. Pop-up manager David Caffery said he is “unsure” when the ATMs will be available.
